The School Day

The Head of School greets parents and children at 8.45am each day. When the first whistle is blown at 8.50am, the children line up in their respective classes in the playground and are collected by their class teacher. This gives parents the opportunity of speaking to their child’s teacher, and ensures that the children enter school in an orderly way. Children entering the school premises after that time must enter school through the Main Office and will be recorded as late. We take punctuality very seriously and monitor it closely across the school.

There is a playtime break at 10.20am – 10.35am. The children then work until lunchtime at 11.45am, 12.15pm or 12.30pm depending on their sitting. Lunchtime lasts for 45 minutes.

School finishes at 3.15pm or 3.20pm

Lunchtime Clubs

At Masefield we organise several lunchtime clubs – activities vary from term to term and may include computer club, reading club, homework club and art club. Leisure Time Mentors work over the lunch time period, organising activities and supporting the kitchen staff.
