Our School

Admissions

Masefield Primary School is a one form entry school which means there is one class per year group. We also run at 20 place Nursery. The school Admissions policy is based upon the Bolton Local Authority policy.

Our Nursery provision is extremely popular and books up quickly and so we advise that you put your child’s name down for a place as soon as possible (this may be up to a year before they start). To find out more about available places please contact the school office 01204 333714 or office@masefield.bolton.sch.uk.

All in-year admissions to school are handled by the school in co-ordination with Bolton Pupil and Student Services. If you would like to know whether or not we have places available in school for pupil transfers please contact the school office on 01204 333714 or office@masefield.bolton.sch.uk

In the case that there are no spaces in the relevant year group, parents will be referred to the Local Authority (Pupil & Student Services) and the pupil’s name will be added to the school held waiting list. Waiting lists will be prioritised in accordance with the schools published admission criteria. The school will provide parents with relevant advice and guidance of the appeals procedures.

Admissions into Reception are coordinated by the Local Authority who will handle all procedures for reception admissions into school and will arrange an independent panel for any appeals that may arise. More information can be found here.
