Enrichment
What is our Enrichment offer?
At Masefield Primary School we take pride in ensuring that all children are safe, happy and valued. Through an inspiring and creative curriculum, our children experience opportunities to shine and achieve their potential. We provide a motivating and challenging environment, where all their achievements are celebrated. Children are encouraged to become successful, confident and independent learners, equipping them with skills to make a positive contribution to the local, wider and global community. As a fundamental part of our commitment and vision to develop successful young adults who have resilience, determination and motivation, our school is embedded with a variety of enriching opportunities for pupils.
In Key Stage One and Two, our pupils take part in a wide range of activities that complement the National Curriculum and develops key knowledge, life skills and social responsibilities. An example of this is the opportunity to take part in our Forest Schools. This enrichment group is led by our qualified Forest School practitioner, Mrs Walton, who guides the children through multiple outdoor survival skills. Mrs Walton also holds sessions for pupils in Nursery to Year Six, where parents can join them in our Forest School.
Pupils also take part in new activities and/or experiences which include but are not limited to gardening, fundraising, mindfulness, cookery, textiles and journalism. Each session is led by exceptional members of staff, who plan and deliver motivating and inspiring sessions which include visitors, local visits and memorable experiences.
Pupil Voice

-
When asked, do you enjoy Enrichment? a child responded, “Yeah we love it, why wouldn’t we?”
-
“We love and appreciate our time in Enrichment! We love having the opportunity to enrich ourselves and thrive in a way we wouldn’t usually.”
-
“We love Enrichment, we have cool teachers at Masefield.”

After School Clubs and Activities
As well as our programme of Enrichment which runs within the school day, the school provides pupils with the opportunity to take part in a wide range of after school clubs. These include sport, music, art and crafts, book club and cookery club. Clubs vary throughout the year and are offered on a half termly basis in order that we can maximise the numbers of pupils who are able to take part.
